First Long Weekend 2015 :)

Reason to Smile: The first long weekend of 2015 and people have their plans. Treks, tours, camping, shopping, some dining outlets to check out and what not ! ;)

I am glad I didn't opt for any for a change :P I, instead went out for a lavish lunch with family at Oriental Residency, Khar. By the time I had just finished hogging, I was called to welcome my very dear friend from Singapore ! Chinmay Koshatwar - your surprises can be really nasty :P Had I been on any trek outing, I would have missed out on all the fun we had over the weekend ! ;)

Chinmay, Me and Pooja (She is no more Meow, now she has a new Quack ;)) are always fun to be with. We roamed the mall, abruptly decided to go to Marine Drive, literally chilled out there and again hogged on to Bade Miyanz for dinner ! ;)

Sunday morning music class always sets the tone for a perfect day :) Disha had inquired about some Veerdas pyjama fest that was making the buzz in Mumbai. Well, it is India's largest comedy festival that has the most popular stand up comedians perform around the entire city ! Yes, the festival started 23rd Jan and the shows keep happening everyday at five different locations at the same time - Juhu, NCPA, Bandra, Colaba, and Andheri ! No wonder the long weekend must have had the entire city laughing their guts out ;) It was indeed one of the most amazing fests I have attended by far :)

Monday was lazy and by the time I finished my supper, Mayuri whats apped to check that if we were getting bored at home, why not Bandstand :P I cannot have any better idea than spending quality time with a friend at one of my favorite places in Mumbai - Bandra Bandstand ! The place is somehow magical and it brings out the peaceful best in me atleast :P

Honnavar :)

Reason to Smile: The lush green views, the rice and wheat plantations, the foggy mountains, the wet silver curvy roads and we 3 girls on a road trip. It all begins with this thought and check where we land up :) Honnavar - One small city in Karnataka, very close to Kumta, Gokarna, Murudeshwara Temple and many more such popular places. We headed straight to Madhu's native where her uncle lived. Her Mamaji, as we all affectionately called him, greeted us and was very strict about maintaining the schedule of our trip, for he was our official guide to take us to umpteen places around for sight seeing. Kugaon Fort + Palasdeo Temple :)

Reason to Smile: The movie made its roar in the Marathi film industry with all new faces as very sensitive and challenging characters as their debut. I have only heard about the movie and its feel shot at the backdrop of scenic adventure beautified by Kugav Fort near Solapur. I had seen them too in some of their promos on TV. While it looked exuberantly vibrant and beautiful, it was time to see whether it gives the same impact in real lights too ;) So without a doubt, there are number of nature lovers like me who had the same thought running on their minds. Ironically the place becomes just more popular only because its got highlighted in some movie. Or else Kugaon Fort was always there - just that it got visible to the public eye after 56 years of its existence !! Because all this while it was submerged under the crystal clear waters of River Bhima of Kugaon Village. It has significantly no traces of its charm on the web. So, it was surely not google this time to locate the place....
