Movie & HBD :)

Reason to Smile: It is movie time for me - Badlapur and Dum Laga Ke Haisha I heard were movies good enough to take a glance.

I picked up Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Anirban was willing to join me for the movie and we headed for an evening show on Sunday. The movie revolves around a guy, Prem - who owns a cassette shop in Haridwar. The film is based in the set up of 1995 era where CDs and DVDs were very new. Uneducated, struggling to look for self respect among friends and family; incapable of running his shop, he is forced to get married to an educated but an over weight girl - Sandhya. He clearly shows his disinterest in the marriage visible to all. A skinny lame guy who has no idea what to do in life i now thrown into a relationship assuming the wife will smooth-en things. But it only gets worse. Over time, his non interest develops frustration in her and she decides to walk out of his life. While all this is happening in Prem's life, a competing shop opens up selling music CDs in the same market, clearly affecting their business. Prem realising that he has been in no position to take control of anything in his life - education, his passion for Kumar Sanu songs (business), and marriage; accepts defeat to himself. He tries to kill himself.

In the event, one quarrel props up between him and his friend and things totally change for him. How he manages to get everything back to normal, in shape is obviously what the movie ends with. A simple, suave yet powerful with very realistic and strong performances, the movie is pretty much a treat to watch. I enjoyed it - Probably because I somehow could not stop relating myself to the actress with the way I am putting on weight :P Looks like some looser to fall in my kitty too ;)

Today is the birthday of a very very dear friend - Snehal. I was picked up by her husband Niraj ( the couple who got married because of the cute cupid I played) to give her a surprise at mid-night. He initially kept me kidnapped at his neighbors till the clock strikes 12. But we all landed up pretty much before that. It seems she knew what was going on anyways :P We had an amazing fun time at her place. Sayali - sister, Anuja, me and Rinu - friends, her parents, Niraj's brother, some neighbours, all gathered only to see her all set to receive a surprise :P

Some surprises are so blissful to friends that it shows on their face ! Yes, she was soaked with cake and pastries :P

Some pics on FB. Enjoy. Keep Smiling :)
