Waterfalls Trek & Karnala Trek - HFD :)

Reason to Smile: From Karjat to Khopoli, the entire Sahyadris is booming with lush green scenic beauty and not to forget the infamous waterfalls everywhere ! The monsoons have arrived when you actually visit these places.

I wanted to enjoy the waterfalls on one such weekend. And what better day than the one that celebrates Friendship Day ! So, Merwyn, Urvashi and Manohar just hopped into a car, picked  me up from my place and we decided to drive down to the best possible waterfalls around - Vangani, Bhivpuri, Palasdari, Kalote and Zenith Waterfalls. Vangani, Bhivpuri, Kalote are the ones very close to Karjat; Palasdari is just after that and Zenith is at Khopoli.

As usual they say when the virtual world or the so called technology doesn't help we finally take help of the localites to find the way out. Gone are those days when it used to be the other way round :P
Yes, we kept circling around the Kalyan toll naka towards Kasara, obviously the wrong route and finally landed up towards Bhivpuri, skipping Vangani. Lack of time management - All thanks to Merwyn we could at-least successfully visit Palasdari and Zenith post Bhivpuri. Needless to mention the best one to cherish, enjoying a dip on the falls hitting us really hard, eyes completely blinded due to the winds blowing; lesser crowd was Zenith Waterfalls at Khopoli :)

Some veg, non veg and Jain food to feed our stomachs, the drive overall was superb ! A very well spent Saturday with friends who love travelling :)

Came back home, took a bite and slept only to realize I have one more celebration at Karnala waiting ;) Early morning train to Panvel and I am greeted by known, unknown friends to start our trek to Karnala Fort. When you have 27 crazy mates, all of them known to be foodies, and photo addicts, you cant find more enthusiasm on a trek that can take about 3 hrs to climb and half an hour to descend :P The jungles led route to Karnala was skipped and we followed the shortcut to the base of the fort. Though steep, its saves time indeed. The only irritating part were the mosquito bites that everyone was trying to ignore :P It was sunny but the weather kept being pleasant. Unlimited clicks at the steps so high, we all freaked out when the breeze hit us hard at the top ! ;)

All in all what a marvelous weekend with back to back plans. One can only do this that has friends with the love for travelling and trekking and love to share memories that can last a lifetime !
My friends are surely my lifeline ! :)

Photo shopped pictures - A shop full of photos waiting for the readers on FB :P :)

Keep Smiling :)
