Panshet :)
Reason to Smile: It is that time of the year when long weekends are celebrated like crazy :P
So while we are always the last minute planners, why should we miss the fun of not making optimum utilization of resources available :P Hence there we are on the roads with our bags on our shoulders and totally not knowing where to wander !! This was the result of one whats app message from a partner in crime saying "Let's go somewhere. I can't sit at home for 3 days :P"
"Chal" is my obvious reply and within an hour we were all set to go... Somewhere! LOL :D Cut to the time we got hooked on to our phones to check if we can shortlist some weekend getaways and most importantly get the stay or hotel bookings. The long weekend at this juncture became a challenge naturally. Most good places were booked and the others were selling it off for a bomb!
After a struggle of about an hour more on this, we still could not succeed on finalizing some place or resort. We did not know what to do. We looked at each other. Our eyes clearly spoke "We are not going back home for sure!"
Madhurima said "Let's do one thing. Just cab it up to Pune and then decide where to go from there." My most usual uncut spontaneous reply "Chal" ":P While we were on the way, we just checked with some local friends if there was some place where we can rest our heads for 2 days. God Bless one soul - Shraddha, she suggested we try PANSHET - a small village far away from the city but very scenic and beautiful. We took a chance and luckily found accommodation at an extremely secluded place - RutuGandh Resort! The entire area is spread across 2 acres of land and is filled with lush green plants, trees, a plethora of flowers around, superbly scenic, and with an ultimate lakeside (Dam backwaters) view to die for! Its worth every penny they charge for the rooms so huge that an entire army battalion would easily fit themselves for a cozy time :P It serves only Veg Food and ensures there is no alcohol or smoking allowed. The nearby spots have a huge backwaters of the dam and a spiritual center for meditation with a totally rural backdrop that has rice farms and several vegetation plantations, flora n fauna, mountains to cover the heads, all of this flowing alongside as you take a stroll towards the highway :)
Places to visit nearby: Panshet Dam, VarasGaav, Neelkanteshwar Temple, Sinhagad and Khadakwasla Dam. All these places may be within the range of 30 to 40 kms from the resort. What's a must have or most recommended is a private vehicle. Since we did not have one of our own, we missed out on a few scenic picks.
All in all this place is highly recommended for nature lovers, rural pick list, spiritual surroundings, and an overtly isolated romantic charm ! ;)
