Reason to Smile: It is this time of the year when all of us come together to celebrate Ganesh festival. One of the most sort after festival that it is, ignites tremendous amount of zeal and enthusiasm among the people of Maharashtra specially. Else, the festival is recognized globally merely for its authenticity and the energies it generates among Indians.

A bunch of friends started to Pune and decided to hop for Ganesh blessings overnight. This indeed becomes one of those night-outs where all of us are more excited to seek the blessings than just have fun during the trip. One mid night halt at Mac Donalds for a bite and we were off to Shaniwar Wada for Ganesh Darshan. The Michael Schumacher that we saw in Prasad (he & his car - Oh boy!), was enough to make us reach early on there. We slogged out a lot for Parking his car and headed for our final destination.

From 11.30 PM to 3.30 AM, it was a rollar coaster 'walk' to each and every Pandal (5 major ones) with immense crowd to greet and be blessed by Bappa ! The funny thing about being lost in that crowd is all of us are enough busy searching for each other than look for our next Pandal literally :P I am unsure about the significance of each of these Ganpati Pandals. However, some long and short queues, some hilarious incidences and we were enough tired to head back to Mumbai. Our Michael was on his aggressive feet again and made us reach 'safely' by 6.30 AM !

Hats off to one such passionate soul who ensured all of us join for this event and be blessed !!

Needless to mention, countless smiles enhanced our night-out and made it memorable once again !

Honnavar :)

Reason to Smile: The lush green views, the rice and wheat plantations, the foggy mountains, the wet silver curvy roads and we 3 girls on a road trip. It all begins with this thought and check where we land up :) Honnavar - One small city in Karnataka, very close to Kumta, Gokarna, Murudeshwara Temple and many more such popular places. We headed straight to Madhu's native where her uncle lived. Her Mamaji, as we all affectionately called him, greeted us and was very strict about maintaining the schedule of our trip, for he was our official guide to take us to umpteen places around for sight seeing. Kugaon Fort + Palasdeo Temple :)

Reason to Smile: The movie made its roar in the Marathi film industry with all new faces as very sensitive and challenging characters as their debut. I have only heard about the movie and its feel shot at the backdrop of scenic adventure beautified by Kugav Fort near Solapur. I had seen them too in some of their promos on TV. While it looked exuberantly vibrant and beautiful, it was time to see whether it gives the same impact in real lights too ;) So without a doubt, there are number of nature lovers like me who had the same thought running on their minds. Ironically the place becomes just more popular only because its got highlighted in some movie. Or else Kugaon Fort was always there - just that it got visible to the public eye after 56 years of its existence !! Because all this while it was submerged under the crystal clear waters of River Bhima of Kugaon Village. It has significantly no traces of its charm on the web. So, it was surely not google this time to locate the place....
