Garbett Point - Matheran :)

Reason to Smile: They say whatever happens, happens for the best :) After a grand birthday celebration for my mother, it was time I thought I should move out for the rest of the weekend :P

My mother ofcourse did not mind as long as we gave her as much attention as she needed for her birthday :P  So we celebrated with her favourite Chinese meal at Trident, Bandra. Luckily, the hotel's coffee shop had a chinese festival theme going on. So indeed the celebrations had an icing on the cake for her. She enjoyed to the fullest. She was no looking no less than a princess too :P

Nevertheless, End moment plans either cancel or make it the best. In my case it was both :P I was about to join some friends to cover some waterfalls in the Karjat region. Somehow that got cancelled and joined Ankita and group for a new trek. Ganpati Gadad. We all reached Kalyan on time and began the wait for the lead who was to take us there. So, we kept waiting, we waited a little more. And after the long wait, all of us only realized that the fellow was going to be more late. So we dropped that plan and decided to brainstorm on how well we can make the day better. Go where or do what ? :P

So that leaves, me, Ankita, Keval, Krupa, Shardul and Mr.Bhoir to contemplate. We almost traveled the entire Sahyadris on our minds with suggestions like Arnala, Rajmachi, Asherigad, Bhairavgad, Murbaad, Malshej, Bhimashankar, etc. Finally since we were doing this activity at Kalyan railway station, I thought the nearest and the time saving place would be Matheran. We finally zeroed down to Garbett Point, Matheran :P

The fog, the weather and the green landscape with those small white waterfalls were mesmerizing. The point is about 4 - 5 kms from the start point. So the trail began, we took some halts, clicked pictures and we were welcomed with huge and mind boggling breeze at Garbett ! It was so hard that one feels as if the breeze and the winds are pushing us away from entering the zone ;) There comes the role of our very dear friend Mr. Shardul Reshim - a man who has the guts and the insane mind of doing his Phd in Astro Physics :P We tortured him to explain this mind and literally body blowing situation to us in relation to Gravity :P :D ;)

The best part of our entire trip was when we decided to visit the largest Ganpati Statue placed on the middle of the hills. Since our trek was suppose to be at Ganpati Gadad, a small moral visit to the idol was a must we all thought. So we started following the rail tracks to the idol and about 5kms walk from Dasturi Naka (start point) we got the blessings :) They say the best time to visit any temple is when the prayers are being offered to the deity. We all literally got lucky to that. We had just managed to breath a sigh of relief that the Aarti began ! Now that's what I call God's way of saying 'Bless you' !! :)

What a weather we faced ! Unimaginable winds, foggy place, sunny rains, and what not ! :)
Indeed, a super 'blown out' trip it was to Matheran ;)

Some pics on FB :) Keep Smiling :)
