Rann of Kutch :)
Reason to Smile: There are people who have a life and they are trying to live it. Then there are people who are trying to figure out where their life is. For me, I created it ! :)
When friends are a boon in your living, your life is a roller coaster ride. And for sure I have all the crazy ones out there in mine ;) :P
I have not led a very ambitious life but I have created one to live it peacefully - even in difficult times. People call it bad days, I call them 'adventure' ;) :P All thanks to the 'idiots' who make it so beautiful and simple :)
The trip to Kutch with those kinda friends made each day count - Literally ! While I enjoyed the trip to the fullest with crazy wanderers - Sangeeta, Manan, Tauseef and Rohan; this is what I thought I gained back from the trip for myself in those moments of bliss and tranquility -
- Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
- Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen.
- Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.
- Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself; for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you, either.
- You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.
While it was quite a hectic road trip to Kutch (about 913 Kms from Mumbai) it was every bit exciting and worth living the adventure we created for ourselves :P We headed to Bhuj, stayed there but could not find accommodation for any day more than one. Oh yes, we did not plan anything and just took off with a Tavera in our kitty booked by RD (Rohan) and Manan :P So yes, we had to figure out what to do, how to plan our days, and when to check what. Nothing was planned and nothing turned out to be as we kept planning either :P When 5 monsters meet, here;s what happens -
Day 1. Travel and Stay at Bhuj luckily that falls prey to us for just one night or say a couple of hours left for us to explore the city :P
Day 2. Explore the archaeological site based at Dholavira that reflects the ancient Harrappa civilization. Then go to Kala Dungar and then of-course the main highlight of the event - White Desert.
All excited, we did not realize that the site is 250 kms from Bhuj and to head to Kalo Dungar and White Rann we have to move via Bhuj ! So yes - 500 Kms and another 100 kms drive in totality for the day. While Rohan, our so called tour leader talks so confidently about the accommodation we will get at Dhordo (the place where the White Rann is) we land up spending the entire night in our very own Tavera ! :P
Day 3. Sunrise at White Rann is surely worth watching. The white salt that one walks on completely feels like snow and shines to its glory! We were surely surprised to see Sanjal, (one more wanderer :P) with a bike on rent and all set to move with us ahead. Kalo Dungar was our next halt nearby and then we decided to head straight to Lakhpat - the Indo Pak Border. Now that was about another 150 kms. We kept scratching our heads to find out if there was any short cut to reach Lakhpat. On the barren land where the silver roads kept winding up and down, we found that there is! The desert begins where the road ends ! If yo have seen an advertisement of Mountain Dew starring Hrithik; you know what I am talking about :P Yes, we have literally had our vehcile rising in the air, coming out of the dunes and experienced the road ending to have our wheels move on sands for about 25kms taking rounds of the no mans land and hitting the right road assuming we almost reached Pakistan ! :P Phew !! That was some scary adventure we risked ourselves on :P Covered the Lakhpat Fort, Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, Narayan Sarovar in the nearby areas with about 10-15 kms in the vicinity and again decided to move back to Mandvi Beach - another 150 kms from Lakhpat via Bhuj !
Day 4. We head to start for Mumbai covering Mundra, Anjaar (The samadhi of Jesal-Toral) towards south again via Bhuj and touch the highway to home !
So, Yes - North, South, East West - We have traveled it all at Kutch and that's what makes one a traveler - or else you are just a tourist ! ;) :P
Also, one most important thing - I never knew I would not only be back with just awesome memories but some really sidey songs to my collection that can make your entire road trip of 3000 kms a super energizer success ! :P :D LOL :D
