Badlapur Experiment :)

Reason to Smile: Looks like one weekend at home got me so restless that I had to make some plan (atleast in my head) for this one :P I just checked up with my off late travel buddy - Madhurima if there was something we could just explore. I just wanted some excuse to step out of the house or else either I would go mad or make my mother one :P

She, as dedicated as she would be, suggested we just try and experiment something nearby. So we headed straight to Badlapur. I only knew about the Kondeshwar Temple and some pond nearby. But she insisted that there was some very secluded waterfall which hardly even the locals know about ! I was very curious and excited if we could spot that. So we reached Badlapur station early morning and about 8 kms away is Kondeshwar temple. The bloody Auto Rickshaw fellows rip you off on the excuse of the extremely bumpy roads that they have to drive on ! :P

A short curvy, bumpy and a slightly hilly road led us to the temple with a Dam en-route where it was all foggy skies and flowing waters. It wasn't raining that much but the weather was all windy and moist. On reaching the temple, we realized that for security reasons, the pond where a short waterfall could be spotted was shut for people to bathe in. So while we just enjoyed the beautiful view of the scenic monsoons it had to offer, we climbed a few steps to a hilly spot just next to the temple. The umpteen streams got us smiles galore :)  Since it was early morning there was not much sight of crazy monsoon crowd so to speak. It was all serene, pure and all by themselves for us to just immerse in the sounds of chirping birds, waves of the waters and falls that remained yet to be found !

So after clicking some pictures we headed into the deep jungles with a clean route being laid out for us to just blindly follow. However it was getting so deep inside that after about 30 mins, we returned back with no traces of the secluded falls being seen :(

So we will come again to this beautiful place to finally enjoy the feels of the falls !! ;)

Honnavar :)

Reason to Smile: The lush green views, the rice and wheat plantations, the foggy mountains, the wet silver curvy roads and we 3 girls on a road trip. It all begins with this thought and check where we land up :) Honnavar - One small city in Karnataka, very close to Kumta, Gokarna, Murudeshwara Temple and many more such popular places. We headed straight to Madhu's native where her uncle lived. Kugaon Fort + Palasdeo Temple :)

Reason to Smile: The movie made its roar in the Marathi film industry with all new faces as very sensitive and challenging characters as their debut. I have only heard about the movie and its feel shot at the backdrop of scenic adventure beautified by Kugav Fort near Solapur. I had seen them too in some of their promos on TV. While it looked exuberantly vibrant and beautiful, it was time to see whether it gives the same impact in real lights too ;) So without a doubt, there are number of nature lovers like me who had the same thought running on their minds. Ironically the place becomes just more popular only because its got highlighted in some movie. Or else Kugaon Fort was always there - just that it got visible to the public eye after 56 years of its existence !! Because all this while it was submerged under the crystal clear waters of River Bhima of Kugaon Village. It has significantly no traces of its charm on the web. So, it was surely not google this time to locate the place....
