Alibaug Trail :)

Reason to Smile: It is our mind that creates the kind of life we live. We get what we expect to get, therefore, begin right now to expect the very best of everything that this world has to offer - and wish the same for everyone else !!

So, what goes on my mind is what I got this weekend too ! A long road trip to Alibaug with some great fun friends makes it all that one counts for on a road trip :)

Vivek, Sumit, Jaal, Lawrence, Rohan and Me - packed up to drive to Kaashid Beach, a place 12 Kms from Alibaug. Our accomodation was at Green Valley Hotel - wonderfully located at the beach-side with cottages to savor your living. The place has ample parking, hammocks and swings and an amazing sun rise to your view from any side of your stay ! What's more? - The place can be also utilized for Camping and beach activities !!

Gamblers at Work :P

We nicely spotted the place by night and got back to work :P Yes, this time the Gamblers inside us were put to work :P I lost as usual but enjoyed the game :)

Some early morning pictures, fun, masti, breakfast and we headed to Korlai Fort.

Korlai Fort (also called Morro or Castle Curlew) is a Portuguese fortification. It was built on an island (Morro de Chaul) which guards the way to the Revdanda Creek. It was meant as a companion to the fort at Chaul. At this strategic position the Portuguese could use it to defend their province which stretched from Korlai to Bassein. Korlai fort was also strategically very important as it guarded the mouth of the bay. Sambhaji the son of Shivaji tried to take it over but failed and had to withdraw his forces in the year 1687. A lighthouse and an old chapel are the main landmarks of the fort and the bastions of the Korlai fort offers beautiful panoramic views of the sea.

Post that we headed to Nagaon Beach, about 10 Kms from Korlai on the way to Alibaug for an amazing lunch. While some hogged on Fish Thali, the veggies ate Biryani and Paneer preparation :) Special Thanks to Chef - Bhakti Dedhia who made us an awesome chocolate cake delivered at our door step !! :)

Some fun pictures already uploaded on FB :)

Take a look and Keep Smiling :)
