Daman :)

Image
Reason to Smile: A road trip to Daman was planned and finalised after a lot of searching for beach side places and lots of friends giving inputs and backing out on it too :P So we 5 of us drove to Daman on Mayuri's new Celerio :P Nice car Mayuri indeed  :) Fully automatic makes it easier for anyone to drive it seems ;) Daman as Rohan says is like a Mini Goa. People possibly go there to get drunk as is and then have a chilled out time. That's it. Thankfully our agenda was not exactly that. We did figure out that there are two forts which can be explored and beaches of course. After having  a heavy breakfast on the way to Daman, we straight headed to check out these forts - Moti Daman and Nani Daman forts. The Nani Daman fort is pretty small as the name suggests and only have a circular fortification to its kitty. Whereas Moti Daman has a huge fortification very well maintained and offers a light house to view; some horizontally lined canons placed at the rear end o...

The HR way :)

Reason to Smile: The HR way.. !! ;)   Mr. Ankit Sindhi, someone from Quston Technologies who was inviting HRs to blog on the said subject, invited me to write something on HR and the challenges faced by most HR professionals so that it can be of some help to all of us who are leading this so called ‘fraternity’ in our respective industries.   I was so blank about it that I said I won’t write anything on HR related topics because they are all over the web !  While he was busy qualifying me to see if this could be an opportunity for me to share my thoughts on HR, I informed him that I write blogs on adventure activities and what keeps me happy ! :) Yes, I write on my weekend adventure experiences and share them with my friends and readers who wish to know how I keep myself happy OR what is my 'reason to smile' :) Yes, that’s what my blog ( www.blognehamehta.blogspot.com )  starts with – Reason to Smile. It’s more like an online dairy...

Reason to Smile: An experience never before is something I get to feel :) Truly said, when you have friends who bless you with their heartfelt company, you cant think of it as any less than a family ! For me, till I have friends like Niraj and Snehal, I wont ever miss having a family :) Niraj and Snehal, my buddies for life - it is because of them I have enjoyed most of my precious moments with them. I have the best memories because they make me a part of  those special moments in their life :) My special and heartiest thanks to the both of them. As usual, Niraj invited me to experience watching a LIVE IPL match between MI and KKR yesterday. I had never seen a stadium before. And this one only made it perfect as a visual. It was probably Wankhede at its best after India vs Pakistan ;) The lights, the 360 degree view of the stadium, the white cheer girls dancing, the 50,000 audience and the ROAR when MI hits a 4 or 6 ! Yes, 90% of the stadium literally looked BLUE ! ;) Cheer...

Time Pass 2 :)

Reason to Smile: After all the hangover that the Konkan-Malvan trip has bogged me with, it was mummy special this time :) To celebrate a woman with all the courage she has, all the knowledge she wants to put on test, all the energy she wants to give - only to her family; its time we make our mothers feel special. Not that we did something great, but its amazing how blessed my mom feels even if we just take her out on a lavish lunch somewhere around suburbs :) Indeed, only mothers have it in them.  So an Ala grand lunch at Oriental Residency made her day and moving on a movie show made mine. A treat to watch Time Pass 2 is surely a must watch.  Timepass   was  a 2014 Marathi   film. A  story about teenage love set up in 90's between Dagadu  and Prajakta.  Their love is forced to part ways because of the social status Prajakta's family is curtailed with. They shift to Konkan leaving Dagadu alone with his love in his heart. :)  Time Pa...

Konkan- Malvan- All Sea Forts (22) Trek :)

Image
Reason to Smile: The plan itself was exciting when I heard it from a friend - All sea forts of Konkan and Malvan side in just about 4 days! Woow.. Amazing isn't it? :) Yes, the plan was all set to move around and cover about 16 forts with 14 crazy members in the long weekend that came up. Guess what ? We, Trek ways Sahyadri participants, in the excitement of running around in the scorching heat, landed up covering 22 forts by the end of the 4th day!! ;) Here's how - After a nice and sweet introduction while we are on the way to Harnai, our first destination, Kumar, our trek leader decided we will always discuss our plan and next steps daily by the end of the day. This would help us understand how we can try and adjust to the schedule and cover as much as we can. This was a brilliant idea I thought. It would not only allow us to remain flexible but also help us to know our own stamina better. And so did we ! Suvarnadurg, Goa Fort, Fattegad Fort and Kanakdur...
