Devkund Trek :)
Reason to Smile: Devkund is a trek not known to many is what I was informed. Though when we reached, we couldn't believe the amount of crowd we saw assuming it is getting popular - All Thanks to Manoj from Travel Trikon and other fellow travel groups that are making this place the most eventful one :)
It is this excitement that one wants to visit the place after checking out the pictures, the adventure in the dense forest (during the two hours trek up) near the humongous mountains it covers up by all the sides. Yes, while one walks a long path, takes the traverse near the Bhira Dam and ascends the short route towards the 'kund' it is unbelievable how each side of your view has these magnificent and huge hills in square, triangle and rectangle shapes with its peak probably less conquered even by the locals. These mountains look as if they are standing tall just there to protect us from the unknown and uninvited :) The uphill routes, extremely tall tress, and the nature that we encountered in the dense forest on our way are so enchanting and soothing that it feels as if there is a hidden advise that we all should follow - Stand tall and proud; Sink your roots into the earth; Be content with your natural beauty; Drink plenty of water; Remember your roots; Enjoy the view !! :)
The last leg of the bumpy rock ride leads to the very gigantic and the most awaited - Devkund, a green, clean and a serene, most pure and super cold water lake formed by the waterfall jumping from the height that remains undefined :P As the name suggests, it was known as the bathtub of the Gods & Godesses and is a scenic spot located at a distance of 100 kms from Pune near Bhira Dam. It can be easily commenced as the one day waterfall trek from Mumbai and Pune.
The highlight of the trek in the group was the amount of love and attention I gathered from the small little boy called Preet. (Maine uski Maths ki class kya li, usne meri hi class le li :P) He made me insanely famous for the disliking he has towards me just because I could not make him a part of MAFIA :( The other participants comprised of beautiful singers like Suraj, Mayank, Pinakin, Hakim, Punit who almost made us feel the hearing loss by the time we reached home :P (One solid victim was Kaushal :P)
Jokes apart, the trek was seamlessly wonderful and well led by Parnika, Apeksha, Rajesh and Kunal. They left no room for negotiations when it came to engaging the group in the most craziest of ways :P Right from the coordination of the travel to food till the last minute winding up at the base village, things were very comfortable and smooth. Kudos to the team ! Hail Travel Trikon :)
Till my next trek, Keep Smiling :)
