Joy of Giving :)

Reason to Smile: I have been visiting 'n' number of urban and rural places for treks, trips, tours and alike. I have also attended many charity events, been a part of many social service activities through groups and NGOs. But this one has always been extra special. Here's why.

There is a team of people, very warm, loving and over caring, inspiring and an extremely dedicated lot that not only thinks of the upliftment of the rural or tribal villages but also look forward to working towards it. I have usually come across people who talk big, earn big, sometimes donate big but not work towards this cause. Also, I feel just to call it a donation or a contribution for a 'cause' is also way too less of an expression for these amazing people who have made sure that every participation counts ! This joy of giving, this expression of selfless contribution and this effort for a wonderful cause was organised by Priti Patel and Yahya Virani (Offbeat Sahyadri and ChalNikalPade Groups) for 2016 !!

I cant thank them enough for not only organizing this event, but also making each and every volunteer proud of their contributions, their involvement, their presence and their willingness to being selfish enough to grab those blessings not many people could make through to !!

The group members - their courage to ensure that the funds are on time, the event is held perfectly, the donations are utilized for the right purpose, the entire drive is functioning smoothly, the constant update of what, why, when and how of the drive during the event, etc is surely commendable ! Three cheers to the entire team and volunteers for their effortless and selfless participation and contribution!

We visited Ambapet, a village near Amby Valley spotted and adopted by Priti for this donation drive. We distributed old clothes, lanterns for their homes (as there is no power supply), utensils, food, snacks, stationary, sarees, shoes, sweaters, and so much more. This surely would not have been possible for all those who made sure with their own sweet contributions that the villagers do not suffer for basic sanitation and hygiene. It is a salute to this thought and act that we all come together, participate and steal the blessings from these underprivileged lot that give us happiness to die for !
Special mention of the Pacific Productions Photography - Sarang and Rajas who have captured these mind blowing happy expressions through their lenses and have posted them on Facebook ! Please do take a look and I bet you will have no words but feelings that can roll your heart to love and affection. I promise you they are absolutely stunning and will leave you speechless !!

We stress ourselves daily to work, may be something else too, but it is in such moments that we find ourselves not just satisfied of the donations but an assurance to being human, to being alive, to being priceless !! I hope, I wish if all of us could take that pledge of doing one such activity every single day, no matter how, no matter where, to be making this place a better world !

Honnavar :)

Reason to Smile: The lush green views, the rice and wheat plantations, the foggy mountains, the wet silver curvy roads and we 3 girls on a road trip. It all begins with this thought and check where we land up :) Honnavar - One small city in Karnataka, very close to Kumta, Gokarna, Murudeshwara Temple and many more such popular places. We headed straight to Madhu's native where her uncle lived. Her Mamaji, as we all affectionately called him, greeted us and was very strict about maintaining the schedule of our trip, for he was our official guide to take us to umpteen places around for sight seeing. Reason to Smile: The movie made its roar in the Marathi film industry with all new faces as very sensitive and challenging characters as their debut. I have only heard about the movie and its feel shot at the backdrop of scenic adventure beautified by Kugav Fort near Solapur. I had seen them too in some of their promos on TV. While it looked exuberantly vibrant and beautiful, it was time to see whether it gives the same impact in real lights too ;) So without a doubt, there are number of nature lovers like me who had the same thought running on their minds. Ironically the place becomes just more popular only because its got highlighted in some movie. Or else Kugaon Fort was always there - just that it got visible to the public eye after 56 years of its existence !! Because all this while it was submerged under the crystal clear waters of River Bhima of Kugaon Village. It has significantly no traces of its charm on the web. So, it was surely not google this time to locate the place....
